SHIP REPAIR SERVICES PROGRESS IN EVERETT WASHINGTON

Everett, Washington: Everett Ship Repair, LLC (ESR) is pleased to report, amid the COVID-19 crisis, the first eight-months of operation since establishment in late 2019, have been very busy with projects ranging from remote work for large ships, to dry-dockings and in-water service work on tugs, fishing vessels and barges.

ESR is now in full operation, offering ship repair services in drydock and dockside. ESR offers trade services including ship fitting, certified welding, pipe, electrical, mechanical, rigging, hydro-blasting, sandblasting, paint spraying, and outfitting. ESR operates to strict environmental standards with all certifications required for the services offered in Washington State.

ESR’s CEO Gavin Higgins said “This is the opportunity that we have been working to bring to fruition for several years. We greatly appreciate the cooperation that we have received working with the Port of Everett to bring new jobs and services to the surrounding community and Port”. Operations Manager, Jon Hie joined ESR after successful careers with Kirby Offshore Marine, Hawaii and Foss Maritime of Seattle, Washington.  “This opportunity to build a repair focused shipyard in Everett is exciting and rewarding.” Jon Hie explains, “Our location in an industry friendly port on the I-5 corridor offers some clear advantages in Puget Sound. We have been able to assemble a team of industry veterans and highly skilled tradesmen in a short time allowing us to provide first class service and needed capacity to our customers.”

ESR’s 3.5 acre facility consists of a 21,000 sq. ft. fabrication shop and 1,250’ of pier and dolphin for in water work. ESR’s dry docking capacity is through its submersible barge, Faithful Servant. Capable of accommodating vessels up to 436’ x 110’ with a lift capacity greater than 8,000ton. ESR is maximizing the in-water real estate with the recent purchase of the 180’ x 49’ deck barge which is moored alongside (4) dolphins and the existing pier which allows for vessel moorage up to 450’ x 120’.

This configuration allows ESR to accommodate multiple projects concurrently both in water and in drydock.
